Italy's Cash Poker and Casino Decree: Regulation, Certification and Authorization Update

This is a great news as the publication of the Comunitaria Decree starts the process necessary for the launch of casino games and cash poker games.

Expectations following the launch of the new games is high. In 2010 the Italian gaming market increase its' annual turnover by EURO 1.344bn from an estimated EURO 3.46bn, and with the introduction of the new casino and cash games, the market is likely to more than double in size over the next two years.

New entrants in the market who will now be able to compete in these new games under almost the same conditions as existing operators, provided of course they are fully compliant with the technical requirements prescribed by Italian law.*
